Ok, my time to chime in here.

I agree here with Fred (and others). I like TextMate as an integrated 
text editor which I pull up from transmit. I have used SFTP integrated 
text editors too, my choice is Skedit <http://www.skti.org/skEdit.php>, 
though SEEdit works well too (includes textmate and CSSEdit 
integration) <http://www.xhtmlsoft.com/> but find that I only use the 
(s)ftp functionality when I have a very quick edit to do. Generally, I 
am uploading pages, etc. so transmit works much better.

Of course, when that "White knight" brings terminal integration to 
textMate, this will all be moot.
