Hey Allan,
Thanks for you response. I tried downgrading mysql to
mysql Ver 14.14 Distrib 5.1.58, for apple-darwin11.2.0 (i386) using
readline 6.2 using this post:

However I get the same error.
I see that you’ve installed version of mysql build for ubuntu: mysqld Ver
5.1.41-3ubuntu12.10 for debian-linux-gnu on i486
Do you have any write up as to how did you compile it? Also, are you also on
lion (10.7.2)?
