I usually commit from the Status window. IT is after I enter a commit
msg. The Status window then only refreshes when I click on it again.
That's when I see the commit failure at the bottom. I always highlight
the project dir and commit the whole thing rather than specific files.

As far as the whether the file is one on the commit list I am not 100%
sure. I will quote all the error the next time I commit.
