But then instead of pressing a single hotkey to change an option, you
need to press the prefs hotkey, use the mouse to alter the option,
click ok, use it.. maybe repeat again to toggle it off if it was only
for a quick thing. Even if you don't remember the hotkey for the item,
picking it from the menu would mostly be quicker. I think only having
a prefs window will be annoying for "power" users in the long run.
Doing both might work...
