Well, what would be ideal would be a placeholder for the argument that 
gets passed into the pattern match after a 'function' or 'fun' keyword. 
Well, maybe ideal isn't quite the right word, as I'd guess that a lot of 
people use the fun and function constructs to make the use of partial 
application more explicit...
