Can you try (un)plug the keyboard/reboot etc. just to ensure this 
isn’t a (driver) fluke?

There have been issues in the past where e.g. some “numlock” flag or 
similar gets set for the third party keyboard, causing some key 
sequences to be interpreted incorrectly.
