Hi Thomas,

I had the same problem.

The solution is to create a ~/.tm_properties file and put your settings 
in there.

Mine looks like this:

fontName = "Ubuntu Mono"
fontSize = 16
tabSize = 2
softTabs = true
TM_GIT = "/usr/local/bin/git"

If you're not sure where git is (apologies if you do!) type `which git` 
at the command line to find out.
