In OS X's Keyboard System Prefs, there's a "Modifier Keys…" section  
that lets you change Caps Lock to act as Ctrl, for instance. If that's  
an option for you, you might find it easier to use in some combinations.

(Side benefit: no more accidental Caps Lock)
