I'd imagine this would completely empty the log (untested) :

echo "" > "$TM_FLASH_LOG"

see the command 'Open Flash Log in Console' for an example of how to  
set TM_FLASH_LOG.

Would adding it to 'Run' would be preferable to 'Build' ?
