You can use the matlab bundle from the SVN repository. Octave is mostly
compatible with the matlab syntax.

On a similar topic - is there a way to get TextMate to select the language
based on a where in the directory structure a file is loaded?

Matlab/Octave files typically have extensions of ".m" which is the same
extension for objective-c. I would like to set the language to "Matlab"
when the path contains a matlab directory (example /somedir/matlab/foo.m)
otherwise, just set the language to objective-c. As I remember from my
emacs days, I had a load hook that was able to make that kind of decision.
