Try it out inside the XML of the tmMacro file itself. Odd behavior.
Still way better than mine though.
I went ahead and replaced mine with this version so that all the  
people downloading it from BundleForge and where-ever will be getting  
yours instead.

FEATURE REQUEST:
Any way to make it select the insides of the tag instead? Like BBEdit.
Maybe it would make sense to make a different Macro for that so that  
they can have different triggers
