My experience differs. I used a lot of different blog engines/CMS and  
I'm now back to WP. It's the easier to maintain and most versatile  
system, IMHO.

- There has been _one_ major security breach recently, AFAIK.
- Updates have always been easy for me compared to other systems.
- I'm happy with the Askimet efficiency for spam.

I understand your experience has been different, but I don't think  
you'll find a perfect replacement.

I just wish there was a system as good and written in ruby...
