Wasn't there an "Automation" top-level menu at one point? If so, I'm  
sure it appears in some of the older screencasts. Perhaps that's  
what's being referred to.

If so, all of the functionality is still there, just probably under a  
different menu (although keyboard shortcuts are usually easier).
