Well, that's probably not exactly what you're looking for, but in the  
System Preferences, under International > Input Menu, there's an  
option that allows you to select one input source per document. That  
means you can set your TM files to British (or whatever non-CJK  
layout your keyboard has), and the rest to Kotoeri/Simplified Chinese/ 
Hangul/whatever.

The downside is that you lose the convenience of a global setting --  
your input method will sometimes change when you click on a different  
window.
