Try open a new document, switch to Markdown, and drag your HTML file  
to this window.

It uses HTML2Text from Aaron Swartz. My experience with it is however  
limited success.

There is also make.text, a bookmarklet: http://homepage.mac.com/tjim/  
that one does an amazing job.
