You want the "convert to RTF" and "convert to PDF" commands, 
respectively.  Both are in the Markdown bundle.  Click the little gear 
menu in the status bar, and find the commands listed under the bundle 
name.  There are also keyboard shortcuts for them, ctrl-shift-r, and 
cmd-ctrl-shift-p.
