Well... I've rebooted since then and it looks like Console starts
afresh after each reboot. I know it looks like I'm deliberately trying
to erase the evidence you all could use to help be, but I assure you
it's just ignorance. I spent several years in Linux learning the ins
and outs of the operating system; when I moved to the Mac, I wanted to
kick back and not worry about that stuff.

I have looked in /var/log/system.log (which looks like the OS X
equivalent of /var/log/messages) and haven't found anything about
TextMate. Is there any other permanent log I should look at?
