[TxMt] Disable spell checking in Plain Text mode

Hi,

   Is there some way to disable spell checking in Plain Text mode? I  
find the underlining of "misspelled" words annoying. I've tried to  
use some other modes, but they have their own quirks. Thanks for any  
pointers.
