On <http://www.apple.com/macosx/bootcamp/> Apple writes:

    [...] hold down the option key at startup to choose
    between Mac OS X and Windows. (That’s the “alt” key
    for you longtime Windows users.)

I’d say it’s not that good a comment, considering that all european  
users have “alt” printed on the modifier key that apparently only  
“longtime Windows users” refer to as the “alt” key.
