great, that will be a welcome usability enhancement. just in case  
you're not familiar with NetNewsWire[1], (its author) Brent Simmons  
has included a nice and slick selector widget (for stylesheets) in  
the bottom status bar. I don't know if it's some custom- or a  
standard cocoa-widget, but something like that would fit the bill ;-)
