If anything, TextMate will be _faster_ over the next versions! :)

I'm only adding features which I think makes sense, in a way that makes 
sense, and in a way which shouldn't affect the running time -- the only 
problem is the code base size, which affects startup time. It's 
currently at 24 KLOC, but I think I can actually decrease it a bit over 
time, I'm waiting with refactoring till I get my G5, since it's a pain 
with my current machine, due to the compile times.

So the goal of TextMate is and always will be to be a small fast and 
flexible general purpose text editor, so don't worry about bloat! ;)
