In addition to text and text-like modes, depending on the
sophistication of the editor wrapping is language-aware, so you get
multi-line comments in C whose rewrapper gets the bullets right,
paragraphs in POD sections in Perl, etc. All of them use true newlines.
I seldom use soft wrap in fact.
