hmm... I'm not sure what's causing the problem.
If I open TextMate, select Open and navigate to some directory, then go
to Terminal, cd to this directory and write 'touch foo.txt' and cmd-tab
back to TM, the new foo.txt is there instantly -- also works if I
remove foo.txt. And it doesn't matter whether or not the open dialog is
open, it's always up-to-date.
So I can't reproduce this. Where both of you using normal Apple
formatted partitions? And could you try just this 'touch foo.txt' thing
to see if there's something 100% reproducible?
And also check other programs which use the Ccooa open dialog (like
TextEdit).
