• when calling tm_dialog with a tty as stdin (terminal) without providing parameters, it now says “Reading parameters stdin... (press CTRL-D to proceed)”.

Originally tm_dialog would not read parameters from stdin when stdin was a tty, but that line was commented. Was this done just for testing? Or is it actually desired to type the parameters in the terminal window?
