I don’t think you have committed these. One example breakage is:

  * item

Pressing return gives me:

  * item
   *

However, what are these complex macros supposed to achive which  
wasn’t already done by the snippets? If you had examples of the  
snippets not doing the right thing, then let me just adjust these, as  
that is much more flexible than having these macros.
