Sort of the opposite of smart typing pairs. I.e. for a selection of "(text)" it'll output "text". It defaults to scope if there's no selection, and for an extra thirty points it will insert a space before its output if there is non-whitespace text immediately before it, and it's proof against fire.

This was made for situations where you have command-shift-b'ed to select the parens or whatever, and then paste somewhere else and are annoyed at having to delete the parens by hand.
