Everybody is doing it.  Here is a PHP manual lookup command.  I know an open http://php.net/$WORD command floated around the list way back in the day but I guess it never got added.  This one is a little nicer since it pops up built-in HTML instead of sending you off to a browser.  I know Mats has a completion command in the works, but this still should be helpful if you want to read the extremely useful user comments (*ahem* sarcasm) or ... if you just want to browse around the docs since they get updated quite often.
