For the records, currently I have made these additional styles in my 
own supplementary settings group:
    keyword.markup.element-name: underline
    keyword.markup.attribute-name: italic
    text source: background black with 10% opacity

I do however intend to find a naming scheme so that by default 
function-name and element-name will share style, and the same for 
function-argument and attribute-name.
