I'd like this too.

I work over an AFP share on a linux virtual machine, and often TM cant detect when a file has changed (think we established some time ago its not TM's fault).

But it does mean when I change git branches, Im now in the habit of closing each file and reopening it to be safe. 

The ability to just CMD-R(eload), and then hit enter on a confirmation dialog would be awesome.
