Hey Graham,

Just wanted to follow up. I was able to edit the Microsoft’s cascadia-code font to add a double space ligature and it looks perfect. Thanks for giving me the idea.

See the attached screenshots ;)

Hi,

Those are some good solutions, but unfortunately I mainly have issue with how small two spaces look compared to four. Seeing whitespace characters and the indent guide will certainly help. But using a different font does give me an interesting idea to find a font with two-space ligatures that appear as four spaces.

Thanks!

Hi Kyle,

You've probably thought of these ideas before, but maybe you haven't ¯_(ツ)_/¯.

Have you tried enabling "View" -> "Show invisible characters"?

What about using a different font? I like Source Code Pro[1] but there are a lot of choices[2].

How about "Show indent guides"?

There's also this ancient post that enables a "indent guide"[3] in a completely different way. Speaking of this, @team friendly bump to make the "Show indent guides" smarter...

Hope that helps,

Our coding stands call for two space indentation. I find it hard to read the code with 2 space tab size. I find it easier to read with 4 spaces. Though I see what you mean. It’s fine for leading indentation but code alignment would get messed up. Ugh. Guess I’ll have to contend with 2 space tab size.

Thanks

Is it possible to have the tab size be 2 spaces, but change it to look like 4 spaces?

What could be the possible outcome of this? It would confuse user and possibly ruin careful indentation of comments or docs.
