You can also use Oberdiek's epstopdf LaTeX package with

\usepackage{epstodf}

in the preamble of your document.
It will convert .eps files to .pdf on the fly.

In Terminal type

texdoc --list epstopdf

and choose the pdf which has oberdiek in its path to read on the usage  
and options.
