I've found MacFuse / sshfs to be unstable. I've tried several
versions and with all of them, I run into something that makes me
stop using it for a while. Usually it is something unrecoverable,
e.g. my UI locks up and I have no way to escape except to do a forced
power-off.

As such I've gone back to using Cyberduck with TextMate as the
external editor. It's not as nice, but I don't get a spinning beach
ball for 10 seconds every time I save a file, and more importantly I
don't get unrecoverable system hang-ups.

I end up trying sshfs now and again as new versions come out, though,
because overall I love sshfs. It's just not ready for prime time yet,
IMO.
