Sweave is more R than LaTeX I would say. In particular, it is  
theoretically possible to Sweave in HTML instead of LaTeX.

Further, most LaTeX users have never heard of Sweave, and most R  
users I would say have.

I've been thinking for some time of perhaps merging the Sweave stuff  
into the R bundle.
