I haven't used Windows extensively over the last couple of years but a
few weeks ago I needed an FTP client there and gave FileZilla a shot.
Well, the interface is more or less what you'd expect from a filemanager
and from what I can see it also support remote editing.

As I've said: I haven't really worked with it over a longer period, but
when I tried it, it worked ;-)

Another FTP client I've at least heard good things about (used it for
about 2 years ... 6 years ago *g*) was SmartFTP. According to its
feature list it also supports remote editing.
