If your needs are modest, chances are there is no difference between  
the three packages. And of course you would use TM to do the editing  
of the LaTeX files, and their converting to pdf.

James already pointed to the Markdown to LaTeX converter that comes  
with TM . Multimarkdown is an extension of Markdown, which you can
