I don't have two machines, so I haven't been able to make a code  
sample, but I have reported to them that the problem is with {set|get| 
remove}xattr() for files on AFP mounted devices, and included the  
kernel panic from a user.

When I get the chance to work with an AFP mounted device, I'll  
investigate it further.
