I can confirm this! there used to be an annoying performance problem  
involved with this feature, but meanwhile it works so well, I keep  
forgetting that it's there ;-)

in practice this means often, that when I switch back to TM after  
duplicating a file inside the project (either in finder or in  
terminal) it's already there without any noticable updating taking  
place (this may perhaps be connected to tiger, where this feature is  
now also finally working in between Finder and Terminal)
