• helper library to run commands in the background.

This helper sets up exception handling and presents potential script errors using a dialog (with pretty printed stack dump) so is a usability advantage plus it abstracts away the tedious business of manually detaching and better guards the command from run-time environment changes (well, more of a “allows the command to take advantage of potential future improvements related to this”).
