Yup, I like that solution best. If we can get tm_dialog to target the  
correct parent window, we could put the interesting CommitWindow code  
into a tmplugin.

Meanwhile, I'll go ahead and do the tm_dialog workaround, and we'll  
just live without brief mode for now.
